book cover Тени XX съезда, или Антисталинская подлость
Shades of the 20th Congress, or Anti-Stalinist Villainy
Гровер Ферр

Издательство: Эксмо-пресс, 2010
ISBN: 978-5-699-44947-7

In a speech to the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union on February 25 1956 Nikita S. Khrushchev, leader of the Soviet state and of the Communist Party, accused Joseph Stalin of immense crimes. On its 50th anniversary William Taubman, whose biography of Khrushchev won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize, called Khrushchev's "Secret Speech" "this great good deed" which "deserves to be celebrated."

But in this detailed study of Khrushchev's speech Grover Furr reveals the astonishing results of his research: Everything Khrushchev said about Stalin and Beria in that speech turns out to be false. Not a single one of Khrushchev's "revelations" of "crimes" by Stalin or by MVD chief Lavrentii Beria is true.

The most influential speech of the 20th century—if not of all time—a dishonest swindle? The very thought is monstrous, both as concerns the speech itself and because of its implications... (Summary by Algoritm Publishing House, Moscow)
